For example, if a "fruit juice drink" lists water, high fructose corn syrup, and citric acid before any actual fruit juice, the product is primarily water and sweetener, not fruit juice. If "whole wheat flour" is the first ingredient in bread, the product is genuinely wheat-based. If "enriched wheat flour" comes first instead, it is refined white flour with nutrients added back.
